BUSINESS MAN DIED WEDNESDAY

C. B. JOHNSON PASSED AWAY IN A HOSPITAL AT ROCHESTER, MINN.

C. B. Johnson, proprietor of the grain elevator on north Main street, died Wednesday night at a hospital at Rochester, Minn., where he had gone for treatment some time previous. He had been ill with heart trouble for several months.

Mr. Johnson was born on the Johnson farm two miles west of Roland 69 years ago, which he still owned. He had lived in Marshalltown most of the time, but the family resided here a few years ago, but later returned to Marshalltown.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Bertha, and three sons, Arthur at Gilman, Clarence at Roland, and Merle at Marshalltown.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Elim Lutheran church in Marshalltown. A large number of friends from Roland were in attendance including both the local pastors, Rev. Olaf Holen and Rev. M. O. Sumstad, who spoke at the service.
