Mrs. Inger (Mathre) Charlson died at her home about five miles southwest of here Monday, October 23, 1911, being 78 years old. She had suffered from a cancerous growth in the stomach for some time, but had not been very sick until last July, continually growing worse, until death relieved her. She suffered very much for a week previous to her death.
Eight years ago her husband died at Ruthven, where they were then living. They were among the early settlers of the county and lived here with the exception of a few years, when they lived near Ruthven. After the death of her husband she returned to the old homestead, where she has since lived with her son Ole Charlson.
She leaves three sons and two daughters to mourn her death, and besides these has a large number of relatives at Story City and at this place.
The funeral services were held from Bethel church at Story City last Thursday, where Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiated, after which the remains were taken to Ruthven and buried by the side of husband, which had been her own request. Among those from here in attendance at the funeral services were Messrs and Mesdames O. O. and Lars Hegland.
