Former Howard Township Lady Buried Yesterday

Mrs. Markus Edvinson passed away at the home of a daughter near Dows, on Sunday, October 29, 1911, after several years of sickness. Miss Marie Helland was born in Norway, October 27, 1834 and was two days past 77 years when she died. In 1857, she came to this country and shortly afterwards was joined in marriage to Mr. Edvinson. They made their home on the old Paul Thompson farm south of town, later moving to a farm near Soper's Mill where they resided until a few years ago, when the moved to Sexton, where they have since lived. She leaves her husband and seven children to mourn the loss of a kind wife and mother. She also leaves three brothers, John, Edward and Louis Helland, of this place, besides other relatives and friends.

The remains were shipped here and the funeral was held from Bergen church on Wednesday forenoon. Rev. G. Smedal preaching the funeral sermon, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Roland cemetery.
