ELLEN HILDAHL SAMPSON

Ellen Hildahl Sampson was born in Hildahl, Norway, June 24, 1840, and passed away November 24, 1932, in the Coeur d 'Alene, Indaho Home for the aged, at the age of 92 years and 5 months.

In her youth she came to this country, and settled in Lee county, Illinois. She was married to Stephen Sampson in 1874, and the same year moved to a farm south of Radcliffe, Iowa, where they lived until moving to town in 1900.

To this union was born five children, three of them dying in infancy, and one daughter, Annie Ringheim, in 1928 in Spokane, Wash. Her husband died March 13, 1915.

In the fall of 1917 she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Knute Ringheim, at Spokane, Wash. There she made her home until her daughter's death in the winter of 1928. At that time she entered the home for the aged at Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho.

There remains one son, Ole Sampson of Des Moines, three step children, Lewis Sampson of Eagle Grove, Steve Sampson, of Highmore, South Dakota, and Mrs. Peter Bly of Radcliffe, 30 grand-children, and 40 great grand-children.

One step-son, Geo. Sampson, died in 1930.

She was a member of the Lutheran church.

The body was brought to Radcliffe by her grand-daughter, Mrs. Alma Rozella, and funeral services were conducted from Our Saviour's Lutheran church, Tuesday, November 29, 1932, Rev. B. K. Barstad officiating.

Burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery, west of Radcliffe.
