From Nevada Representative January 23, 1889:

DIED: At his home in Milford Twp. Sunday, Jan. 13th at 7 PM, Solomon Erickson in the 53rd year of his age. He had not been well for the last three weeks, when he had to keep his bed most of the time. He died quiet and believing in the Lord and that he would come to a better land where parting will be no more. Mr. Erickson was a native of Norway and was born August 1836. He married in 1855 and came to this country in 1857, settling in Illinois where he lived 11 years. He then moved with his family to Story county where he lived until his death. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn the loss of a good husband and father. The funeral was conducted Wednesday at the church in Roland by Rev. Jacobson; and to the relatives and friends who participated are extended the sincere thanks of the family.
