FUNERALS FOR OLD RESIDENTS

OLD RESIDENTS OF STORY COUNTY WERE CALLED BY DEATH

Funeral services have been held the past week for three old residents of Story county who are known to many in this community. A. B. Anderson who has lived here for 62 years, died at his home in Roland Tuesday evening last week. Mrs. Kari Hauge of Belmond, a former resident of the south part of the county, died Friday morning while visiting at the O. O. Lein home. Henry Osmundson of Minneapolis, formerly of Slater, died in Minneapolis Wednesday.

Henry Osmundson

Henry Osmundson was born in Etne, Norway, in 1853, and died at the Swedish hospital in Minneapolis April 6, 1932, at the age of 79 years.

He came to America at the age of 16 years and engaged in blacksmith work for several years. He was later engaged in the manufacture of tiling spades. He was also in the hardware business in Roland a few years in partnership with his brother, the last O. O. Stole. He lived in Slater most of the time, and more recently moved to Minneapolis, where he was operating a plant for the manufacture of "faltbrød."

He was married to Betsy Myrah in 1876, who survives him. He also leaves the following children, Ed Osmundson of Roland, Vina, now Mrs. Kuntzman of San Pedro, Cal., George Osmundson of Forest City, Howard Osmundson of Perry, and Olive, now Mrs. Tesdal of Slater.

The body was taken to Slater for burial where the funeral was held Saturday afternoon, Rev. E. R. Rorem officiating. Those from here in attendance included Ed Osmundson, Mrs. Mary Stole, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Maland, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Shold, Miss Veda Shold, Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Boyd, Miss Dorothy Boyd, and Henry Thompson.
