A painful accident occurred near this place yesterday resulting in the death of Benjamine Ersland a young man living two miles east of town, as near as we could learn, the facts are about as follows: Mr. Ersland was on his way to the Des Moines River Timber, having no box on the wagon he was seated on the reach, when another team came up behind him his horses became frightened and he made an effort to brace his feet, and slipped falling on his head is such a manner as to break his neck. Mr. Ersland was a very estimable young man and had been married but a short time. His untimely death will be a sad bereavement to his devoted young wife.
