DOROTHY ELLEN DOBSON

Dorothy Ellen Dobson, 71, os Nevada died at Story County Hospital Wednesday, Jan. 4, 1989. Cause of death was a heart attack.

The service will be Friday, Jan. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Nevada.

Visitation will be Thrusday, Jan. 5 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m., with the family receiving visitors from 7 - 8 p.m.

Dobson was born in Highland Township in Tama County on Feb. 3, 1916 to Ray Slingluff and Birdie Smith. She was married Oct. 7, 1933 in Montour, IA, to Carlton Dobson, a retired worker from the Nevada Poultry plant. She was a homemaker. She lived the last 38 years in Nevada.

She is survived by her husband, Sheryl George, Darlene Bartmess, Marilyn Bugely, and sons Max and Larry of Nevada; two brothers, Rex Slingluff and Richard Slingluff of Marshalltown; Mother Birdie Slingluff of the Marshall County Care Facility; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, her father and one infant daughter.
