BETSY BIRKELAND OF ROLAND IS DEAD

Special to the Ames Tribune.

ROLAND—Miss Betsy Birkeland, 55, a lifelong resident of this community, died at 11:30 a. m., Friday in the Story City hospital. Death was attributed to heart complications following an attack of influenza. She was taken to the hospital Saturday.

Miss Birkeland had lived her entire life on the farm south of here, where she was born and where she kept house for her two brothers, Bernhard and Henry. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Holger Birkeland. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. H. O. Bakken of LuVerne, Minn., and Mrs. K. J. Jacobson of Dallas, Wis.

Funeral arrangements have not been completed but the services will be held at Bergen church, of which Miss Berkeland was a member and in whose Ladies Aid society she was active. Burial will be in the Roland cemetery.
