HIESTAND, LONG TIME RESIDENT HERE, DIES

Alonzo B. Hiestand, 76, who resided for about 70 years in and near Ames, died Wednesday in Clarinda, where he had been for the past five years, it was reported here Friday.

Hiestand was a farmer near Ames for many years, moving into the city when his health failed a number of years ago.

Surviving him are a brother, S. E. of Princeton, Wis. and a grandson, Ernest, both former Ames residents. Also surviving are relatives in Sioux City. His wife died several years ago.

Funeral services will be, held at 3 p. m., Saturday from the Duckworth Funeral home. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
