Dale Scott Newton, 87, of Ames and formerly of Oelwein, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Riverside Manor in Ames after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at Peace Lutheran Church in Oelwein. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein.

A memorial fund has been established by the family in Dale’s name.
