THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, February 15, 2009.

Sonja Marie Wibholm, 75, Henderson, of Nevada and formerly of Colo, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at the Henderson Health Care Center. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 21, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth St., in Nevada. A vigil service will be at noon, with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Sonja was born July 26, 1933, in Switzerland, to Conrad and Anna Marie (Hitz) Maurer. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Evelyn Wibholm and Robert Wibholm, both of Cedar Rapids, Norman (Margo) Wibholm, of State Center, and Linda Zehnder, of Switzerland; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

In death, Sonja has rejoined her son, Conrad Wibholm, who died Oct. 19, 1958; her parents; brothers, Conrad and Hanspeter Maurer; and her dear friend, Ralph (Archie) Argenna.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Marlys and Dick Thornton, Rosie and Joe Muscarella, and Karen Reece.
