Carrol V. Swanson, 80, Kelley, died of cancer Sunday, May 24, at Mary Greeley Medical center. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home, Slater, with the Rev. Tom Douglas officiating. Burial will be Hillsdale Cemetery, east of Madrid.
Carrol Swanson was born March 1, 1907, west of Kelley to John and Emma (Toll) Swanson. She had been employed by Collegiate Manufacturing of Ames.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond of Ames; two sisters, Hozel Downs of Kelley, and Glenda Adams of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
Visitation will be tonight, Tuesday, May 26, at Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home Slater, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.
