Everett Swanson, 77, of the Iowa Veterans Home, died Sunday at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.
Mr. Swanson was born Nov. 18. 1904 in Boone county to John and Emma (Toll) Swanson. For the past 50 years he was employed on farms in Kelley and Madrid. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Boone.
He is survived by two brothers, Albert of Gilbert and Raymond of Ames; four sisters, Carrol Swanson of Kelley, Fern DeLong of Truth or Consequences, NM, Glenda Adams of Waterloo and Hazel Downs of Kelley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Services will take place 2 p.m. Wenesday in the chapel of the Iowa Veterans Home. Burial will take place in the Veterans Home Cemetery. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin Funeral Home in Marshalltown after 3 p,m. Tuesday.
