Fern DeLong, 79, Kelley, died Friday, March 27, at the Madrid Home for the Aging. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home, Slater, with Marlyn Hansing officiating. Burial will be in the Story Memorial Gardens, Ames.
Fern Swanson was born Sept. 12, 1907, in Woodward to John and Emma (Toll) Swanson. In October 1934 she married Tom DeLong, who preceded her in death on July 8, 1977.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond of Ames; three sisters, Carroll Swanson and Hazel Downs, both of Kelley, and Glenda Adams of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
