Former Maxwell Man Dies in California

MAXWELL, Jan. 2, - J. C. Thornton, Long Grove, Cal., former resident of Maxwell, died at his home in Long Grove Dec. 16, according to word recieved by friends and relatives here.

Mr. Thornton was station agent at Maxwell for many years.

His wife and a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Thompson of Grinnell, survive. Burial was at DeWitt, Iowa.

C, M. Posten, of Maxwell is a brother-in-law of Mr. Thornton. Mr. and Mrs. Posten attended the services.
