Kathy Ihlene Saldana, 44, of Story City, died Thursday, May 26, at her home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in rural Ames.
Kathy Ihlene Suldana was born May 10, 1961, in Ames to Arnold and Janet (Johnson) Sorenson. She graduated from Ames High School in 1979. Kathy and Sergio Saldana were married April 19, 2001. She was a waitress at the Royal Cafe in Story City. She liked cooking, computers, and her dog, Missy. She did a lot of things for family and friends. She was a member of the Ames American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Sergio of Story City; her mother, Janet Johnson of Ames; her father, Arnold Sorenson of Story City; her grandmother, Irene Johnson of Story City; one brother, Terry Sorenson of Story City; her uncle, LeRoy Johnson of Story City; one niece; one nephew; and two great-nieces.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. , with the family present after 6:30 p.m., Monday, May 30, at Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City.
