Mrs. Luella Hughes, 98, 2118 1/2 Story St., Boone, died Thursday evening at the Ledges Manor, Boone, where she has resided for the past five years.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Loren E. Parman officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Ruthven.
Born in Schenectady Co., N. Y., she came to the Gilbert area in 1881. She and Walter J. Hughes were married Nov. 25, 1897, and moved to Ruthven, where they lived until he died in 1937. She returned to Ames and lived here until she moved to Boone in 1941.
Mrs. Hughes belonged to the First Presbyterian Church in Boone.
She is survived by a nephew, David Snyder, R. R. 3.
The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home Friday evening until the time of services.
