Charles Hughes, 82, Story City, died about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Pat Nolan, Story City.
Born in Milford Township, he had been a lifetime resident of the Ames area.
He belonged to the Pleasant Grove Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Nolan; his son Kenneth, of Story City; a sister, Mrs. Grace Carroll of Kelley and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie, in 1942 and his son Rexford, in 1957.
Funeral services will be held Thrusday at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Church with the Rev. C. L. Fuller officiating, assisted by the Rev. Hector Thompson. Burial is to be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
