Alma Ruth, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Hughes, died at their home near Gilbert Station, July 9th, 1891, after a brief illness of about one week. She was nearly nine years of age, having been born September 8th, 1882, and was a lovely and much loved child.
The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at Pleasant Grove church, the services being conducted by Rev. Throckmorton assisted by Rev. Henderson. A large company of friends were present and all sympathized deeply with the bereaved family whose treasure had passed from their keeping to be at home evermore with a loving Heavenly father.
