NELS HORNESS DIED
Funeral services were held yesterday at the home in Milford township and at Pleasant Grove church for Nels Horness, who died Friday following an injury. Rev. Fuller of Story City officiated at the funeral and interment was made in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
The pall bearers were Erick Evans, Ansen Ballard, Martin Jacobs, Martin Jensen, George Sowers and Balus Howland.
The Horness family had been residents of that community of over 40 years during which time he had worked much of the time at his trade, that of plasterer and bricklayer.
Mr. Horness was injured the fore part of the week in a fall, when several bones were broken and internal injuries sustained, and death was finally due to a hemorrhage of the brain.
Surviving are his wife and three children, Mrs. George Lee of Roland, Magnus Horness of Story City, and Hooken Horness of Roland. Three stepchildren, Soren Sorneson of Ames, Mrs. Henry Childers of Roland, and Elmer Sorenson of Story City, a sister Mrs. Sam Stueland of Elliott, Ill., and two brothers in Norway, also survive, and 13 grandchildren, 18 step grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren.---from the Roland Record Mar. 21, 1934
