Kenneth D. Dayton, 64, of Tucson, Arizona, died at his home there on Feb. 15, 1982. He was a former Nevada and Ames resident.
Mr. Dayton was born March 29, 1917 in Alden, Iowa, the son of Frank and Ada Young Dayton. He married Martha L. Beaty. He was retired from Iowa State University where he was a machinist in the chemistry department, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ames, the Moose Lodge and the Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Connie Hissong of Horseshoe Bend, Ark. and Valerie Davis of Ames; two sons, Bruce of Ankeny and Barry of Stillwater, Minn.; a sister, Dorothy Melvin of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1:30 pm from the Stevens Memorial Chapel, Ames, with burial in the Ames Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Stevens Memorial Chapel Friday afternoon and evening. The family will meet friends at the chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening.
