John N. Hill, 86, of Story City, died Thursday, May 8 at his home.
The funeral is Monday, May 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Reverend Everett Nelson of the Salem Lutheran Church at Roland will officiate.
Burial is at Roland.
Born May 26, 1893, to Knute and Bertha Nilsen Hill of southeast Roland, Hill lived in Minnesota for a number of years and also in Seattle, Wash. and San Diego, Calif. when he worked in the defense plants there during WW II.
Most of his life was spent in the Roland-Story community.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters and is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Maggie Johnson of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Lowell "Alma" Ellingsen of McCallsburg; and Mayme Hill of Roland.
He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
