Barbara A. Lindopp, of Nevada, died Monday, March 17, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services are pending with Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada.

Barbara Anne Lindopp, 81, died Monday, March 17, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at St. John's by the Campus Episcopal Church in Ames, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada.

Barbara Anne Lindopp was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Central Falls, R.I., to John and Mary H (Ashworth) Tonge. She was a graduate of Central Falls High School's class of 1944. She joined the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Pawtucket, R.I., in 1948.

She married Frederick A. Lindopp Jr. in 1948. They resided in Central Falls and Lincoln, R.I., until 1967, at which time they moved to Enfield, N.H.

She was employed by Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, N.H., serving as its director of Nursing Service from 1972 to 1978. She received a bachelor of arts degree from New England College in Henniker, N.H., in 1977. She retired from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

She was a board member of Mascoma Home Health Agency, also serving in volunteer positions. She was a member of Limerock Chapter 26, Order of Eastern Star. She was a past president and secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary in Saylesville, R.I.

Since moving to Nevada, she had been a volunteer for RSVP, Good Neighbor Emergency Cooperative, Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa, Nevada Community Resource Center and Central Elementary School. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hanover, N.H., and St. John's by the Campus Episcopal Church in Ames.

She is survived by three daughters, Gail A (Bryan) Harrison, of North Providence, R.I., Nancy J. (Gordon) Port, of Nevada, and Carol J. (John) Ward, of Bradford, Vt.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, T. Allan Tonge; and her husband.

Memorials may be sent to Israel Family Hospice House and St. John's Episcopal Church.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
