Betty Jean Lough, 87, of Nevada, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services, 708 Fifth St., in Nevada, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Betty Jean Lough was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Nevada, to Samuel and Ella (Brooks) Lough. She was a 1939 graduate of Nevada High School. She was a deputy in the Story County Clerk of Court office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nevada. She enjoyed collecting pincushion dolls, antiques and portraits of ladies.
She is survived by one sister, Jane Lough, of Nevada, and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
A memorial fund has been established.
