Mrs. Severt Britson

Katherine Britson, daughter of Chris and Dora Henderson, was born August 8, 1892 on a farm six miles north of Roland and died Dec. 25, 1963 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 17 days.

She was baptised September 11, 1892 and was confirmed in Salem Lutheran church, Roland, Oct. 8, 1906. On Nov. 11, 1911 she was united in marriage to Severt Britson, Pastor J.N. Sandven performing the ceremony. To this union, four children were born, Schubert and Virgil, who preceded her in death, and Cleopha and Leefia.

Mrs. Britson is survived by her husband, Severt and by her daughters, Cleopha Thompson, Story City and Leefia McCurter, Torrance, Calif. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Ray Johnson, Lemon Grove, Calif., and three brothers, Norman Henderson, Cupertino, Calif. and Art and Louis Henderson, Des Moines. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, at 2 p.m. from Bergen Lutheran church with the Rev. Howard Lybeck officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Cyrus Christian and Orris J. Osheim, with Mrs. Otto Hanson at the organ. Pallbearers were Casper Thompson, Orvie Anderson, Albert Borton, Floyd Johnson, Harold Lage, Delbert Childers.

We would like to thank everyone for their kindness shown to us during the illness and loss of our loved one and to those who sent flowers and contributed to the memorials. Special thanks to the Rev. Howard Lybeck and also to the "Happy Hour Club" who helped with the dinner for the family and to the "Bergen Mission Circle" who helped with the lunch following the services.
