Janet Lea Adams, 70, of Marshalltown, died Friday, Jan. 25. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at First Presbyterian Church in Conrad.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

Janet Lea Adams was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Grundy Center, to Robert and Lillian (Huisman) Hillygus. She married Deane Adams Sept. 15, 1956, in Conrad, and assisted him on the family farm near Liscomb where they lived until moving to Marshalltown in 1999. Together, they were blessed with four children, Lori, Doug, Lana and Dan.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 51 years, Deane Adams; her children, Lori Adams, of Ames, Lana Adams-Herr (Galen Herr), of Cedar Falls, and Dan (Karen) Adams, of Oskaloosa; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Adams, of Garner; six grandchildren, Jessica, Lindsey, Jordan, Megan, Rachel and Maggie; one sister, Carol (George) Brady, of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; one brother, Jim (Diana) Hillygus, of Conrad; and international exchange students, Andres Ibanez Berkholtz and Nikita Lamanov.

She joins her son, Doug Adams, and her brother, Gary Hillygus, in eternal life.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Presbyterian Church in Conrad or the American Red Cross Iowa Rivers Chapter.
