Dennis Leon Fuhrman, 63, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007 at Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Services were held Monday, Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, Minnesota with Rev. David Veum and Rev. Ed Monson officiating. Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 30 from 5 - 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, also in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Dennis was born on Dec. 21, 1943 at Eldora, Iowa to Verner and Margery (Hodnefield) Fuhrman. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Buckeye, Iowa and confirmed at Rose Grove Lutheran Church in rural Williams, Iowa. He attended rural school near Radcliffe, Iowa, Radcliffe Community School and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls. He graduated from Hillcrest in 1961.

Dennis married Sharon Valder on May 16, 1964 at Ebenezer Lutheran Brethren Church. They farmed near Radcliffe before moving to Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 1970.

After moving to Fergus Falls he was a VW mechanic at Riverside Repair, a self employed homebuilder and owned a trucking company. For the past 10 years he owned and operated the Fixed Base Operation and also managed the Fergus Falls Airport. During that time he was also Chief Pilot for Ramage Enterprises.

He enjoyed first and foremost his family. He was very passionate about everything he did with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, snowmobiling and especially flying. His passion for flying started when he learned to fly in Iowa Falls at the age of 21.

He was a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather with deep convictions for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Fergus Falls; one son, Greg (Paula) Fuhrman and grandson, Tanner, of Zimmerman, Minnesota; a sister, Sheri (Gerry) Erickson of Mukilteo, Washington; two brothers, Larry (Claudia) Fuhrman of Story City, Iowa and Ron Fuhrman of Moorhead, Minnesota; mother and father-in-law, Palmer and Wava Valder of Joice, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Joanne (John) Austin of New York, New York and Marilyn (Gary) Erdahl of Gresham, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verner and Margery Fuhrman.
