Doyle Dean Hoover, 75, of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at 8:15 a.m. at his home. He was born July 29, 1931 in Wabash County, Indiana to Burvia and Mabel (Long) Hoover.

Doyle was a 1949 graduate of Urbana High School. He married Bonita "Bonnie" Rogers at the Laketon Evangelical United Brethren Church on Feb. 15, 1953. He was a retired farmer and milked cows for 65 years. Mr. Hoover was a member of the North Manchester First Brethren Church, a member and past director of A.M.P.I. (American Milk Producers Inc.), member of Chester Township Farm Bureau, a lifetime member of Indiana Crop Improvement Association, a member of the Wabash V.F.W. Post 286, and a former member of Wabash Toastmasters Club. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita "Bonnie" Hoover of North Manchester, Indiana; seven daughters, Cathy (Alan) Pritchard of Columbia City, Indiana, Carol Jean Hoover of Logansport, Indiana, Cynthia (Mike) Pyle of Silver Lake, Indiana, Beverly (Roger) Sharritt of Fortville, Indiana, Patty (John) Rathmacher of Story City, Janice (Mike) Stilger of Champaign, Illinois, Joyce (Lamar) Young of Indianapolis, Indiana; a son, William D. (Pennie) Hoover of Visalia, California; 21 grandchildren; seven sisters, Virginia Schnepp Smith of Urbana, Indiana, Doris (Robert) Matten of Wabash, Indiana, Norma (Marvia) Wilcox of North Manchester, Indiana, Mary Schenkel, Irene (Doc) Donaldson and Ethel (Paul) Fogel all of Wabash, Indiana, and Nancy (Max) Neher of Madison, Indiana; three brothers, Harvey Hoover, Larry (Janie) Hoover, and Fred (Mel) Hoover, all of Wabash, Indiana.

Funeral services were held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue in Wabash on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Kurt Stout officiating. Burial followed at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash.
