Cecelia A. "CeCe" Creswick, 56, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Newton. Interment services were Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Roland Cemetery in Roland. Memorials to Cecelia Creswick Memorial Fund.
Cecelia was born the daughter of George and Doris (Ball) Christian on July 26, 1950 in Ames and graduated from Roland High School. She received a degree in art education from Iowa State University and an accounting degree from DMACC.
She was married to Chester S. Creswick on July 6, 1974 in Roland. She farmed in Roland and taught art in Fox Valley Consolidated School in Milton and Cantril. She worked as an accountant for Four Rivers Mental Health Associates and recently worked for Mattingly Books and Music and the DMAAC campus in Newton. She loved her family, music, art, and gardening. She directed many choirs in Roland and Newton. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland, St. Luke United Methodist Church in Newton and Chapter ME, P.E.O.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Creswick of Newton; a son, Matthew Creswick of Ames; daughters, Laura Creswick, Lela Creswick, Erica Creswick all of Newton; her mother, Doris Christian of Roland; her mother-in-law, Vivian Creswick of Cantril; a brother, Joel (Carol) Christian of Peoria, Illinois; sisters, Janice (Jerry) Lewis of Newton and Margaret Christian (Chancy Bittner) of Urbandale; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Jeffrey Lynn) Halbrook of St. Louis, Missouri, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and father-in-law.
