ALICE RACHEL GOODEN

Alice Rachel Gooden, 85, of Maxwell, IA died Monday, Feb. 10, 1986, at Story County Hospital.

She was born August 2, 1900 at Belleville, KS to Joel and Nellie Daggett Kinzie.

Mrs. Gooden was a homemaker and a practical nurse. She was an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren, and a deacon in the Maxwell Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Alpha Delphian Club.

Alice Kinzie married Ray Gooden December 26, 1926, in Ankeny, Iowa. Mr. Gooden preceded her in death June 1, 1982.

Survivors included two children, Carroll Gooden of San Jose, CA.; and Barbara Gooden Mulch of Santa Anna, CA. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild are also survivors. Mrs. Gooden had three sisters, Susie Wicks and Elizabeth Canfield, deceased, and Ruth Birdsell. Of her four brothers, Rufus Kinzie and John Kinzie preceded her in death. Glenn Kinzie and Galon Kinzie are also survivors.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell with Rev. Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be in Brethren Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 10:00-9:00 p.m., and a prayer service will be held that evening at 7:30 p.m.
