Jean McClugage, 85, formerly of Ames, died today at Eastern Star Home in Boone. Arrangements are pending with Adams Funeral Home.

Jean Reynolds McClugage, 85, of Boone and formerly of Ames, died Wednesday, May 2, at Boone County Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 4, at First United Methodist Church in Ames, with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.

Jean Reynolds McClugage was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Rochester, Minn., to William and Elizabeth Myrtle (Smith) Reynolds. She attended Bradley College for one year and studied X-ray (radiology) at John Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Ill., for two years. She was an X-ray technologist at Iowa State University Student Health Services for 28 years. She retired in 1986.

She married Ray McClugage May 2, 1943, in Peoria, Ill.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church; UMW of First Methodist (Evening Circle); American Business Women-Ames Charter Chapter; BI Chapter of TTT Association; Laura Chapter of Eastern Star; Sun Dial Chapter of DAR; member of Iowa Mayflower Society; Radiology Society of Technologists; and Mary Greeley Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, James (Jim) H. McClugage and wife, Deloris, of Ankeny; one daughter, Sue Beth McClugage-Stary and husband, Robert, of Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren, Gene McClugage, Dena Steinbach and Raejean Stary; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Gwendolyn Trapp.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Adams Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, First United Methodist Church or TTT Association.
