THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, May 2, 2007.

John A. Madden, 84, of Overland Park, Kan., died of cancer Monday, April 30, at home. Visitation services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd, in Overland Park, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

John served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, and taught in Ames for more than 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Kevin, Laurie, Jane, Jim and Sue, and their families, which include John's 10 grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice.
