DAVID S. SNYDER April 10, 1826-Feb. 6, 1889

David S. Snyder, who departed this life at his home in this city last Wednesday, February 6, 1889, was born in Orrstown, Franklin county, Pennsylvania, April 10, 1826. When a young man, he left the State of his birth and located at Gambier and Mount Vernon, Ohio. Thence in 1869 he came to Nevada, Iowa, where he has since remained. He was twice married, the first marriage taking place in 1849 and the second in 1863. His second wife and eight children, most of them grown to worthy manhood and womanhood, survived him. In the fellowship relations he was an honored brother in the Masonic and Odd Fellow fraternities, and for forty years and exemplary member of the Methodist church. The sickness which caused his death was of about five months duration, and was borne with becoming fortitude.
