PEARSON, EDITH ANGELINE HAYNES (MRS. ELIAS PEARSON) 1852-1923

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 4, 1923, page 1, column 5. “MRS. ELIAS PEARSON – Miss Edith Angeline Haynes was born in Indiana, March 3, 1852, and departed this life, December 22, 1922, at Marshalltown, Iowa, at the age of seventy y, 9 m and 19 d, as a result of a continued illness. She moved with her parents to Iowa and in 1872 was united in marriage to Elias M. Pearson and spent the remainder of her live at Maxwell. Of this happy union there were five children, three of whom and her husband, four sisters and four brothers have preceded her in death. Mrs. Pearson was converted at the age of fourteen and united with the Methodist Protestant church, later uniting with the Presbyterian church at Maxwell and remained a faithful member until death claimed her and she was called to her heavenly reward. Mrs. Pearson was a very patient sufferer and amid her suffering was always kind and cheerful. There remains to mourn her departure, 1 daughter, Mrs. Milton Boster, and 1 son, Rollie Pearson, both of Maxwell; 4 sisters, Mrs. John Lowery of Garrison, Iowa; Mrs. J. O. Carter, of Glidden, Iowa; Mrs. Addie Randall, of Scottsbluff, Neb.; and Mrs. Lew Hall, of Oakland, Ore.; and two brothers, J. S. Haynes, of Garwin, Iowa and A. L. Haynes, of Grand Meadow, S. D. Besides these she leaves many other relatives and a host of friends.”
