TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 14, 2006.

Robert Lee Nordhagen, 82, of Madrid, formerly of Ames and Huxley, died Dec. 6, 2006, at Madrid Home.

He was born in Choteau, Mont., on March 20, 1924, and was the son of Ole and Johanne (Johansen) Nordhagen. He lived in Ames until 1986, moved to Huxley and returned to Ames in 2000. He was an Auto Maintenance Foreman for the Iowa DOT, retiring in 1986. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Luella "Jane" Bowers on Jan. 24, 1945.

Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Johnson of Ankeny; two brothers, Ray of Missoula, Mont., and Dick of Choteau, Mont.; one grandson, Darin (Trisha) Johnson of Ames; and great-grandchildren, Xavier and Kai Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 2001, four sisters, two brothers and one son-in-law, Michael Johnson.

Visitation was 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8, at Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home in Slater. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley with the Rev. Donald Dovre officiating. Burial was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
