Mark Elliott Coffin, 43, of Madrid, Iowa died Dec. 7, 2006, in Ames.
Mark was born Feb. 2, 1963 in Ames, the daughter of Gale C. and L. Elaine (Elliott) Coffin. Mark attended and graduated from Ballard High School in 1981. He then served 5 years in the Coast Guard and later graduated from ISU with a degree in agronomy. Mark had been working at ISU. He was a member of the Slater United Methodist Church. Mark enjoyed gardening, fishing, ISU Sports, refinishing furniture, his cat and his acreage near Luther.
Mark is survived by his mother and step-father, Elaine and Harry Kimberley of Maxwell; a brother, Paul (Lori) Coffin of Battle Ground, WA; 3 nieces: Stacey, Allie and Jennalyn; his grandmother: Virginia Coffin of Kelly, IA; a step-brother: Kevin Kimberley of Maxwell; 4 step sisters: Rebecca (Terry) Holdridge of Ankeny, IA, Sherry Occhuizzo of Chandler, AZ, Cathy Kimberley and Kris Kimberley, both of Urbandale, IA, and other friends and relatives.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Gale C. Coffin in 1985; and grandparents, Lloyd Coffin, Leo and Ruby Elliott.
Funeral Services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Farrar United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Slater Cemetery. Visitation was 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
Memorials may be made to the Mark Coffin Memorial Fund.
The Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
