Norma E. Lexvold
July 11,1914-Oct. 28, 2006

Norma E. Lexvold (nee Thompson), 92, died peacefully Saturday, Oct. 28. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery.
Norma E. Lexvold was born July 11,1914, in Elwell, to John Arthur and Glendora (Warren) Thompson. Following her father's death in 1918, Norma, her mother and her brother, Edgar, moved to Cambridge, where Norma graduated from Cambridge High School.

She married Robert G. Lexvold and they enjoyed many years together. They were proud members of the Sons of Norway Lodge in Story City. She also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star and was active in her church, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

She often was referred to as "a ray of sunshine." She gave her joy of life to everyone and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Nebiker, of Akron, Ohio; two sons, Robert H. (Judy) Lexvold, of Euless, Texas, and Col. Richard A. (Susan) Lexvold, of Brooksville, Fla.; grandchildren, Nicole Lexvold, Alyssa Lexvold, Brent Lexvold, Tracy (Tim) Anich, Kristine (Steve) Lefkowitz, Kimberly Stevenson, Suzanne Engum, Carole (Dan) Biedrzycki, Angie Smith and Mike (Tara) Smith; great-grandchildren, Renee Anich, Brianna Anich, Jenna Stevenson, Alec Biedrzycki, Darren Smith and Jamie Smith; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Catherine Jean; one brother, Edgar J. Thompson; and her husband, Robert G. Lexvold.

Friends and family will be welcomed from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City, and prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

For memorials, the family suggests a donation to your charity of choice or to the Riverside Bible Camp, 3001 Riverside Road, Story City, IA, 50248.

Soderstrum Funeral Homes in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
