Margaret "Margie" Leonard Buck, 80, of Ames died Saturday, Oct. 9, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 12 at Collegiate Presbyterian Church. Private burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Margaret was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Chariton, to Harold and Louise (Stanton) Leonard. She has lived in Ames since 1955. She received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State College. She was a teacher at Tiffin High School and a homemaker.

She married James Buck Dec. 28, 1948 in Chariton. She was a member of Collegiate Presbyterian Church and the LN chapter of PEO. She also was a member of Pi Beta Phi, Questers, Theta Chi and Mary Greeley Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, James, of Ames; two children, Connie (Eric) Bappe, of Ames, and Sara (Charles) Dekovic, of Ames; and six grandchildren, James Smith, Ian Smith, Trevor Smith, Joseph Bappe, Nicholas Dekovic and Tanner Dekovic.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Connie Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Collegiate Presbyterian Church or Bliss Cancer Center.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
