Cory Duane Walton, 30, of St. Paul, Minn., and formerly of Napier, died Monday, Oct. 2, at home. A visitation memorial will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

Cory Duane Walton was born Sept. 9, 1976, in Ames, to Duane "Dewey" and Donna (Leibold) Walton. He was a 1995 graduate of Westmar High School in Joy, Ill., and received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. He was a salesman for Empire Today, a member of the Iowa National Guard and a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.

He is survived by his parents, Duane and Marlene Walton, of Napier; his maternal grandparents, Ray and JoAnn Leibold, of Ames; one sister, Jennifer (Jeff) Crutcher, of Hardy; three stepsiblings, Joe Walton, of Ames, Amanda (Steven) Walton, of Boone, and Andrew Walton, of Napier; one niece, Jacie; two nephews, Jesse and Dylan; and numerous aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Leibold, and grandparents, Ivadell and Charles Walton.
