Richard Dean Haynes, 48, of Nevada, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Chet Ryan Mortuary with Pastor Brice Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Richard was born March 31, 1958, in Nevada, to Bernard L. and Genevieve (Smith) Haynes. He was employed by Donnelley Marketing and recently at Mom's Meals. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool and helping with his friend's race cars.

He is survived by his mother, Genevieve Haynes, of Nevada; one sister, Sherri (Harv Jr.) Bainter, of Nevada; one niece, Rickie Bainter; three nephews, Harvey III, Jason and Jacob Bainter; two great-nieces; and seven great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Haynes, on Oct. 18, 1992.

A memorial fund has been established.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
