Richard B. "Dick" Seversike, 84, of Cambridge, died Sunday, Aug. 27, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames with the Rev. Lynn Elrod officiating. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery.

Richard was born June 4, 1922, on the family farm near Cambridge, the son of Joel C. and Leota (Harris) Seversike. He graduated from Cambridge High School with the class of 1941 and served in the U.S. Navy as a fireman on a destroyer in World War II. He married Anna "Ann" Pauline White Oct. 4, 1941, at Methodist Church in Nevada.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Ames. He enjoyed reading the scriptures and had a great love for the farm. He was a remote controller of model airplanes and enjoyed going to Toledo, Ohio, for the conventions. He also enjoyed camping and was a member of the Wally Byam Airstream Trailer Association, having served as a state officer.

He is survived by his wife, Ann.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Tom in 1982 and Don in 1989.

Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory of Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
