O.W.PARKER, son of Daniel and Azora PARKER, was born on a farm between Maxwell and Collins, September 11, 1880. He grew to manhood in this community, attending High School at Collins and then took a business course at Capital City Commercial College.On December 25, 1901 he was united in marriage to Anna R. Olinger. To this union were born two daughters, Josephine, (Mrs. Vaughn Ray) and Vivian. They made their home in Maxwell until about nine years ago; when they moved to Des Moines, where he was appointed Auditor of the Sate Tax Commission office.
At an early age he united with the Presbyterian church at Maxwell. After moving to Des Moines, he united with the Grace Methodist church there.
Besides his two daughters, he is survived by a grandson, Parke Ray,two sisters, Lena Keopple, of Marshalltown and Minnie Holland, of Farrar and three brothers, Charles, of Powell, Wyoming; Joe W., of Fertile, Minn. and David, of Meeteetse, Wyoming.
Mr. Parker passed away Wednesday morning, January 2 at the Iowa Methodist hospital after failing to rally from an operation undergone on Monday morning.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, January 4th at 2 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vaughn Ray, with Rev. David de Best in charge.
Burial was in the Maxwell Cemetery by the side of his wife, Anna, who passed away last April.
