TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 1, 2006.

Denise Marie Weichman, 43, of Waterloo passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, May 31, at Slater United Methodist Church. Burial was at the Slater Cemetery.

Denise was born in February 17, 1963 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Steve and Sharon (Pierce) Weichman. She was born with Down Syndrome and in 1971 was placed at Bethphage Mission in Axtell, NE. At the age of 18 she came back to Iowa and had made her home since 1981 in Harmony House Health Care Center in Waterloo where she enjoyed music, TV and lots of attention. She was a very loving person.

Denise is survived by her mother Sharon of Slater, IA; two sister, Lisa (Ronnie) Foster and Tammy Weichman (Mike). She has four nephews Derek, Danny, Darrin, and Dylan Foster all of Slater. Her father and grandparents preceded her in death.
