THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, May 19, 2006.

Carol R. Cook, 57, of Ames, died today at Israel Family Hospice House of ovarian cancer. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Oakwood Road Church.

Carol was born Nov. 19, 1948, in Tanakpur, India, the fourth child of the Rev. and Mrs. M.D. Strong, founders of The Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission. She spent her first 21 years in India before coming to the United States for nursing training. She worked for many years as a nurse at McFarland Clinic in Ames.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Keith; and two sons, Maxton, married to Heather, and granddaughter Lydia of Boone, and Jordan of Ames; two sisters, Maxine and husband Rick Shipway of India and Jean Strong-Schradle and husband Jim Schradle of Alaska; one niece, Tamara and husband Dan Law of Ames; and her mother-in-law Vera Cook of Ames.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a memorial that will be presented to The Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission.
