THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, May 16, 2006.

Esther B. Hanson, 83, of Story City, died Sunday, May 14, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City. Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 17, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City.

Esther Hanson was born April 12, 1923, in Story City to parents Cornelius and Alice (Gibson) Hanson. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Story City. She graduated from Story City High School, and she graduated from AIB in Des Moines. She worked at Iowa State University until her sight failed. She was talented on the typewriter and piano, and she loved music, dogs, and cats. She had been a resident of Bethany Manor since 1993.

She is survived by several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethany Manor or Grace United Methodist Church.
