THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, May 16, 2006.
Elizabeth Yvonne Schultz, 97, of Ames, died Thursday, May 11, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at Adams Funeral Home with Father Terry Rassmussen officiating. The cremains will be buried in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born June 7, 1908, in Proctor, Minn., to parents Frank and Clara (Renaud) Whelan. She lived in Ames for 11 years, and lived also in Champaign, Ill. She was an office manager at the University of Illinois until she retired in 1976.
She married Frederick Robert Schultz in 1928 in Detroit. She enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by one son, Robert Schultz of Ames; one daughter, Carolyn Michels of Ames; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Clarice Jeffrey of Albany, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Dorothy Maurer; and one brother, Francis "Chap" Whelan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Israel Family Hospice House.
Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
