Vivian Lucille Olson, 85, of Nevada, died Wednesday, April 26, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Burial will be in Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.
Vivian was born July 14, 1920, near Radcliffe, the daughter of Peter and Sadie (Osmundson) Johnson. She married Maynard Olson June 13, 1941, in Princeton, Mo. Maynard died Jan. 28, 1985. Vivian graduated from Radcliffe High School in 1938. She had worked at R.H. Donnelly's in Nevada for 25 years and also at Collegiate Pacific for five years. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg where she had been active in the Sunday school program, and the Donnelly Retirement Club.
She lived for her children and grandchildren and was always there for them. She enjoyed baking kringla and cooking the Sunday dinner for the entire family. She was an avid reader who enjoyed crocheting and quilting.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Vail (Sandy) Olson, Vincent (Sheryl) Olson, Mondell Olson, Marly (Fay) Olson, all of Nevada; two daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie (James) Klein and Marcia (Mich) Tendall, both of Nevada; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister: Blanche Nessa of McCallsburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Maynard Jr.; one grandson, Andy Klein; three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 30, with the family present from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vivian Olson Memorial Fund.
