THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 14, 1897, page 1, column 3. “OLDFIELD ITEMS – On Sunday, Jan. 3rd, occurred the death of Uncle Geisler one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Jasper county. His funeral was preached at the Green Valley School house on Tuesday, the 5th, by Rev. smith, of the German Evangelical church, and the remains was laid to rest in the Graham cemetery. His family have the sympathy of all.”
