Thanks Marjorie. I live in Michigan and, over the years, have posted this more places over here than I can count. The response I received from Cees Steenhoven on this forum a couple weeks ago was the first time anyone has had relevant information.
He had some interesting facts for me that helped confirm our family suspicions that Koert did indeed go on to live out his life under an assumed identity. An ill Koert visited a half brother here in Michigan about 1962. During his short visit, he said he believed he would be dying soon, but unfortunately did not reveal his alias nor where he was residing.
The Koert Evink from Minnesota is my Koert's double cousin. Brothers Gerrit & Willem Evink married sisters Fennigje and Marrigje Mijmans. Each couple had children named Beertje, Koert, Jacob, and Lubbertje and then some. The two Koerts being born only a few apart and sharing a name has been a pain in the butt during my search.
Amyway, I do appreciate you time to answer my post. I am still on the hunt for photos for Koert, his mother Fennigje, and more of Gerrit along with ANY information at all about Koert's assumed identity. I have not wanted to do DNA testing, but the more years I out into this search without answers, the more I start to consider it.
